I was at first not sure if I wanted to read this story by Comicality. I read through the first few pages and was instantly disappointed as the story was filled with sexual descriptions beginning on the first page. Having read several of this author's works I could not believe the text that was on the page. I kept telling myself that this could not be the work of Comicality as he does not write smut. Where was the emotion and character development that I had come to love, oh my goodness comicality what have you done!Well, then true to form the sneaky bugger came right up behind me and jerked the carpet out from under me landing me flat on my backside. The characters flew off the page and the emotional roller coaster engaged full speed and the ride was on non-stop. That is one of the things that separates a good writer from a great one. How much the reader develops an emotional attachment to the characters. Comicality is one of the greats. He will grab you by the emotional pants leg and drag you all around the room and have you begging him to never stop.
Instantly there is a dislike for "Chris" and a strong bond with "Eli". There is a slow build with "Devon" that will have you falling in love with him also. The descriptors are spot on throughout the story and paint such a perfect image. I honestly don't think that Hollywood could do better and would fail miserably if they attempted to paint the image on the silver screen.
Between the Lines seemed to be a new field of endeavor for this author. There has always been a certain structure that you could count on in a story that was not present here. His work has always been like driving down a familiar country road and just noticing new exciting things as you went along. The character development played out differently and the writing style was not the same, but don't get me wrong it was done wonderfully. I am not sure if the intent was to try something new, but the style certainly worked with the story line. To take the words directly from the horses' mouth in a way: "I dove into every word, sucking up every sentence like it was the last sample of printed text in existence. I'm serious, I was literally enchanted by the style of it."
In closing if you are picking this story up for an academic reading then you will probably be disappointed. If on the other hand you are looking for an emotional read that gives you hope that just maybe humanity is not lost, that we can step beyond the physical, and love can win in the end then this is a perfect story for you.

A novella that, despite the somewhat promising storyline, was lacking in grammar, good developed characters, and masculinity. I don't recommend this for anything more than a read on the days where you can't handle stimuli.
Such a romantic story. I have read a lot of Comicality's stories and would like to believe that both Devon and Eli are based on parts of him. A worthwhile read.
Even though all of characters are supposed to be over 18. The author writes like an immature 12 year old. Too many "he,he,he"s and "ha,ha,ha"s as well as to much dialogue in all caps. I read about 17 percent before I couldn't take it any more.
